Kia has released the first teaser images of the new Kia PV7, a larger fully electric commercial vehicle set to join the growing Kia PBV range.
Following the launch of the smaller Kia PV5, the PV7 will expand Kia’s electric commercial vehicle offering, giving businesses and fleet operators a larger option with increased space and capability.
Full specifications haven’t been revealed just yet. Details including driving range, battery size, payload and charging speeds are expected when the PV7 makes its global debut at IAA Transportation in Hannover on 14 September 2026.
A Bigger Electric Van from Kia
The PV7 will sit above the PV5 and becomes the second model in Kia’s dedicated Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) range.
Unlike an electric van developed from an existing passenger vehicle, Kia’s PBV models have been designed specifically around the requirements of businesses, fleets and commercial vehicle operators.
The PV7 is based on Kia’s dedicated E-GMP.S electric platform and promises greater space and capability than the smaller PV5.
The first teaser images reveal a one-box van profile, robust proportions and the distinctive lighting design now becoming familiar across Kia’s latest electric models.
Designed Around Different Businesses
Perhaps one of the most interesting aspects of Kia’s PBV range is its flexibility.
Every business uses its vehicles differently. A delivery fleet will have very different requirements to a tradesperson, care provider or passenger transport operator.
Kia’s PBV platform has been designed with this in mind, allowing different body styles and specialist conversions to be developed around the same underlying electric vehicle architecture.
The existing PV5 gives a good indication of what this could mean for the larger PV7.
More Than Just Standard Electric Vans
Alongside the PV7 reveal, Kia will showcase several versions of the smaller PV5 at IAA Transportation, including:
-
PV5 Cargo L1/H1
-
PV5 Cargo L2/H2
-
PV5 Chassis
-
PV5 Passenger 7-seat
-
PV5 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV)
-
PV5 Food Truck
It demonstrates just how varied the potential applications for Kia’s new generation of electric commercial vehicles could be, particularly for organisations that require more specialist vehicle configurations.
Kia has also focused on the practicalities of everyday commercial vehicle use. The PV5, for example, features a low cargo loading height, tight turning circle and modular body architecture, designed to make day-to-day operation easier and help reduce vehicle downtime.
When Will the Kia PV7 Be Revealed?
The Kia PV7 will make its global debut on 14 September 2026, when further information is expected around its battery, electric range, charging capability, payload, dimensions and available configurations.
