From the outset, Lease Electric has incorporated Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into our core values, reflecting our dedication to sustainability, ethical practices, and community engagement. ESG is not just a policy or framework we follow, it is an essential element of our business. By adopting socially responsible practices, we aim to create a positive impact not only in our industry but also within our local community.
Our initiatives are designed to create lasting change by focusing on our four key pillars: Environment, Community, Workforce, and our Climate Positive Leasing Service.
The core motivation behind Lease Electric is our dedication to climate positivity. As global temperatures rise, oceans become more acidic, ice continues to melt, sea levels increase, weather patterns grow more extreme, and various species face extinction, we recognise the urgency of action. While our Climate Positive Leasing Service supports individuals to adopt electric vehicles sustainably, our business also prioritises the environment by utlising renewable energy, encouraging biodiversity, and minimising waste.
At Lease Electric, our office is powered by renewable energy:
Solar
The building our office is in, utilises the roof space to house a MegaWatt solar PV system (totalling 2439 Solar Pannels) which generates 850,000 kWh of electricity a year. Of which, Lease Electric use a small percentage, to cover all our electric usage within the office, and when we charge our cars using the onsite EV Chargers.
Biomass
The Biomass facility within our office’s building, processes wood waste (from a furniture company operating within the building) to generate our hot water and heating.
The site our office is located at, boasts a wide variety of plant and animal life. From hedgerows often heavy with berries, colourful displays of wildflowers and blue tits that return to nest each year, the site continues to nurture nature.
Wildflowers
To support biodiversity and specifically wildflowers, in place of traditional corporate marketing gifts, such as key rings, we gift wildflower seed bombs for our customers to plant. These seed bombs bloom with wildflowers, perfect for bees and butterflies.
We operate a paperless workplace; our Climate Positive Leasing Service is 100% digital. Where paper cannot be avoided, we substitute with sustainable materials, such as our bamboo business cards, or seed paper which will grow into wildflowers.
As part of our Climate Positive Leasing Service, Lease Electric invests in Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Gold Standard carbon reduction projects through our partners, Ecologi. In recent months Lease Electric have invested in numerous projects that support renewable energy, deforestation preventation and wetland restoration around the world.
Lease Electric takes pride in actively supporting our local community. Our ESG efforts encompass charitable initiatives, volunteer work, partnerships with local businesses, collaboration with educational institutions, involvement with sports clubs, and engagement with community groups.
We understand that a thriving community benefits everyone, and we are dedicated to doing our part to ensure its success and sustainability for future generations.
Lease Electric carries out regular fundraising activities, choosing a new charity each year to support.
In 2023, Lease Electric supported Emily’s Gift, a local initiative under the Pied Piper Appeal, which was launched in March 2023, by Julie Kent MBE. Their goal was to raise £500,000 by March 2024, to fund a Psychologist's position for ten years. This would ensure that children and their families receive psychological support during cancer treatment at the Emily Kent Unit at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and throughout their remission.
In addition to supporting Emily’s Gift, Lease Electric employees have also made significant contributions to other local charities. Most recently, Lee completed the Cheltenham Half Marathon to benefit KatKinz, a Gloucester-based cat rescue charity. Lee then completed 5k a day in March, ending with the Gloucester Half Marathon on the 31st, for both KatKinz and Sue Ryder.
Lease Electric is delighted to announce its chosen Charity of the Year for 2026, 4ED, part of the Gloucester Rugby Foundation.
As proud supporters of Gloucester Rugby and long-standing Cherry and White fans, this partnership holds particular significance, rooted in both the rugby community and the local area. 4ED, established following the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis of the former Gloucester & Leicester rugby player Ed Slater, provides vital support to those affected by MND.
The Lease Electric team will be actively supporting 4ED through hands-on involvement as event volunteers at a range of fundraising activities. Alongside this, the team will continue to champion the incredible work of 4ED and raise awareness of MND.
Fundraising will take place throughout the year, with the first challenge already confirmed. The team will be taking part in the Cheltenham Half Marathon this September and looks forward to supporting and connecting with everyone involved on the day.
Those wishing to support the fundraising efforts can do so via Lease Electric's JustGiving Page. Further information about the charity and its work can be found at 4-ed.co.uk.

Together Gloucestershire is a local initiative that connects businesses and public-sector organisations with ethical, sustainable suppliers across the county. By sourcing locally through the platform, we help reduce carbon emissions, strengthen community ties, and keep investment within Gloucestershire supporting the region’s economy while advancing our commitment to responsible, socially conscious procurement.
Through our partners, Ecologi, we also invest in community based projects around the world. Recently we have supported projects that repair water boreholes in Eritrea and provide cleaner cooking stoves in Kenya, Ghana and Zambia.
We recognise that the achievements of Lease Electric are deeply connected to the commitment and skills of our team members. Our aim is to promote both professional and personal growth by providing a supportive environment with ongoing learning and development opportunities.
Lease Electric proudly stands as an Equal Opportunities Employer, committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within our workforce.
Alongside our commitment to equal opportunities, our workforce sustainability efforts are centred around making a positive difference for our employees and the environment:
At Lease Electric, our team enjoy fully electric company cars.
Not only do electric vehicles (EVs) have a positive impact on the environment, with their low CO2 emissions, providing electric company cars reduces the Benefit-in-Kind tax that our employees would incur, especially when compared to conventional petrol or diesel vehicles.

At Lease Electric our pension provider allows employees to invest in real-world initiatives, including low carbon energy and manufacturing, social housing and protecting habitats and ecosystems.

For every Lease Electric employee, we offset 0.9 tonnes of CO2e and plant 12 trees every month, which more than offsets the carbon footprint of the individual and covers any minor business travel.
The shift towards electric vehicles is seen as a significant step in the right direction. At Lease Electric, our Climate Positive Leasing Service, supports the adoption of electric cars and vans through leasing, taking additional steps to ensure we have a positive impact on our climate.
Every time we lease a car or van we invest in Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Gold Standard carbon reduction projects to compensate for the carbon created by the vehicle manufacturer, during production. We also plant trees in the Lease Electric Forest for each EV leased, equating to roughly 20 tonnes of CO2 being removed from the earth's atmosphere per tree.

With our recommended chargepoint supplier, Pod Point, our customers will be given the opportunity to switch their residential energy tariff onto one of the EDF Energy GoElectric zero-carbon tariffs. All the GoElectric tariffs provide 100% renewable electricity.
Podpoint provide home chargers that are compatible with Solar panels. The Solo 3s chargers integrate with solar panels allowing you to redirect excess solar energy, so you can charge your car with renewable energy, that is free.
